Taking metformin and drinking alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis, a condition characterized by the buildup of lactic acid in the liver, which can lead to kidney failure and damage to the lungs and heart.2

  1. Saturated Fats

While some healthy fats can support heart and brain health, consuming too many high-fat foods can harm your health.
